“A mentor is someone who allows you to see the hope inside yourself.”
– Oprah Winfrey
OHV’s Parent Mentor program serves families in the 8th Region North Child Protection Court.

Mentors are parents who have successfully navigated the Child Protection Court system, overcome challenges, and been reunified with their children.
They walk alongside families by helping them:
• Find resources
• Identify triggers and healthy coping skills
• Learn daily living activities
• Break cycles of generational trauma
• Restore hope and confidence
“When a parent feels supported by their community, their neighborhood, their school district, when they have access to what they need, they can be the best version of themselves. An empowered parent invests in their child’s future, a supported parent can be present for their child, and a healing parent can heal their child.”
– Kimberly Nabarro, Parent Leader, Infant-Toddler Court Program National Resource Center
